Singapore Adventure Photoblog
Welcome to my Photoblog.
This is a photo archive of just about everything I've done and will be doing while staying in Singapore for one month.
Injoi it.
Day One
Here I am on my way to Bush International Airport in Houston Texas.
.
Waiting for three hours before we can board at 11:00 Pm (notice the frightful look I have)
.
Dayln (my girlfriends brother) being a silly face.
.
Finally in the air.
.
Here are a couple shots somewhere over Europe after the sunrise.
.
.
.
Colton (My girlfriend's other brother) drawing on the plane despite the bumpy ride.
.
Claire (my girlfriend) being cute in the Singapore airport... Whew, finally made it to are destination after 20 hours of flight.
.
Kelly, dayln and Colton in the taxi as we are heading for the apartment where we will be staying for the next month.
.
Gallop Gables Condos
Day Two
Out and about in Singapore.
.
This is where the poor people live and below that is a really cheap wet market. Maids and stuff... they make about 200-300 sing a month, but the government helps them out by making us pay 13 Sing a beer, or 10 bucks for a pack of smokes.
.
A sweet gaming place on the top floor of a mall complete with Wii's, PS3's and Xbox 360's. This place is sweet! We are going to play there one of these days, but for now we just look around.
.
Me and Claire in the stupid Asian Silly face thingy at that gaming place.
.
Walking around Lucky Plaza and other fun shopping places. Looking hawt ;)
.
My and Claire waitin on the 174 bus.
.
Riding on the big bus on the way home.
.
Here is a few pictures of some cool plants around the apartment and stuff. for those of you who care about that sort of stuff. I think it's kind of cool.
Day three
Nothing interesting today just hung out in the apartment while it rained really hard.
Day Four
Today we went to Shangri-La Hotel (witch is really big and nice by the way) to meet up with one of Roger's friends to have lunch at a very awesome buffet called "The Line". Heres a shot of us walking through the lobby.
.
Shangri-La Hotel
.
This is The Line, quite possibly the best buffet in the world where you can be doing anything from eating pizza to dipping strawberries in a chocolate fountain while drinking crazy cool alcoholic drinks from the bar.
.
Claire at The Line being cute as always.
.
Me and Claire in the taxi now heading to the movies to see Kong Fu Panda (witch is really funny).
.
Now we are home for the rest of the day. Who knows whats happening tomorrow, but heres a pic of my room for those who care.
Day Five
Heading to the wet-market to get some food and shaving cream for me.
.
The wet-market is just in front of the government housing where the poor people live. Here we are walking across a bridge to get to the other side of the street. You can see the housing in front of us.
.
Inside the wet-market.
.
After getting home from the wet-market Claire's dad called to let us know someone working at the movie theater called and found Colton's cell phone. So now we're off to go claim it.
.
The Theater is on the top floor of this shopping center / mall.
.
There's Colton getting his phone back from a cleaning manager at the Theater. Standing in front in Garret trying to look cool.
.
Only in Singapore will you ever get your cell phone back when you loose it at a movie theater.
.
Cool... Wall-e.
.
This guy is funky fresh. On our way to level one to do a little shopping before we head back home.
.
Where else can you get a soda that big for under 2 dollars?
Day Six
Not much done today... I tried to get a little work done, but that turned out to be an epic fail. Later we went out to the Hard Rock Cafe before heading home to watch movies and eventually pass out.
.
Good food.
.
Bit blurry, but who cares. Hard Rock Cafe about to head home for the night.
Day Seven
Okay today we are going to Malaysia for Roger's golf tournament at a place called Palm Resort.
.
Me in the lobby of the resort.
.
Later we went to a local mall to see if there was anything to do or buy there. Here I am in the Taxi on the way.
.
As it turns out there is nothing to do but play arcade games... Classic.
.
Heres Claire being a rebel.
*sigh
Just read the signs behind her. On the way back to the hotel.
.
Me getting woozy with my first ever long island ice tea.
.
Later that night we ate out at a Japanese place down in the resort where they cook in front of you and do all kinds of crazy moves. It was pretty sweet I have to say.
Day Eight
That's what I call a fresh morning dew.
.
Breakfast... not that great actually.
.
Well Roger's team won the tournament so we stopped by the club house to hang and drink some brews.
.
Later we went bowling at a place in the resort and had a good 'ol time. I won! After that we grabbed some Chinese and hit the hay.
Day nine
Morning dew number 2.
.
Not much today... just hung out for a bit, packed and went back to Singapore. Then we just kind of relaxed and watched movies. My bowling arm is sore.
Day Ten
Today we went to Sentosa Beach for a little hang out and swim. This is the big Mer-lion you can go insode of. The mer-lion seems to be the symbol of Singapore of something. It's everywhere.
.
A shot of the city from Sentosa.
.
I totally Photoshopped that water. It's much browner in real life.
.
Claire.
Day Eleven
Another lazy day. Just watched movies and stuff.
Day Twelve
Today Claire and I went on down to Vivo City witch is a really huge and nice mall by the water. It took us a bus ride and my first ever time spent on a subway to get there. It was fun.
.
Crazy clouds before a little sprinkle at Vivo City.
.
After we made it back home we chilled out for a while then dressed up for a night on the town, just the two of us.
.
Me at a bar in Orchid Tower having a brew.
Day Thirteen
Lazy day. Nothing Happening.
Day Fourteen
Today we went to Night Safari. It was to dark to take any pictures of the animals sadly. Sorry this is the only picture... there are others, but not on my camera.
Day Fifteen
Today we went to the Singapore Flyer - the worlds largest faris wheel... I was scared as usual.
Heights meh.
.
Looks safe enough...
.
On the flyer aiming higher.
.
Just about the very top. You can see the people who where behind us there in their "pod"..
.
Final shot heading home.
Day Sixteen - Seventeen - Eighteen
Sorry for the late update here, but I haven't really felt the need to without any pictures to share. Friday Roger took Claire and I out to shoot some pool in Orchid Tower (AKA: Four Floors of Whores) where we drank beers out of mugs and laughed with funny Europeans as we watched all the "working girls" be whorish.
We also went to a club and danced the night away and had the coolest shots ever (see image below).
It was good times. Regretfully I had forgot to grab the camera in a rush out of the door so sorry about that. We missed out on some hilarious shots.
Saturday we went and saw the Hulk movie (witch was pretty good, or at least better than I was expecting).
Sunday was yet another "lazy" day... nothing was accomplished.
.
We literally had some shots of tequila at the club (I kept mine).
Day Nineteen
Yet another "relaxing" day. Just watching movies and hanging out.
Day Twenty
We went to Shaw Center to see Don't mess with the Zohan or what ever it's called. It was pretty laughable. Here's a picture of an old Snail shell... it's about 3 inches long.
Day Twenty One
Well we are about to head back t the states on the 29th so that means it's time to go to Chinatown to buy cheap stuff! Over all china town was actually a really cool place to shop and just hang out, but it was very crowded. I liked it though.
.
Overlooking Chinatown's main outdoor shopping areas from the stairs.
.
I swear my hair is not as greasy as it look in this picture... it was hot, I was sweating in my Doors shirt.
.
Mmmm... lizards on a stick, oh whats that?... Squid and Seahorses to?
Yummy.
.
I'm lovin it.
.
Cute.
.
Temple.
.
Time to go home.
Day Twenty One
Hehe...
Day Twenty Two
Today we headed down to where Kelly works and ate out at this really nice place in this fancy hotel. Mortons.
Have you ever been dwarfed by so much glass?
.
The best stake ever, but not very wallet friendly.
.
Myself, Roger and Claire posing at Morton's.
Day Twenty Three
We where going to do something tonight, but we ended up staying home because Claire was not feeling very good.
You can look at this shot from Morton's I forgot to post last night.
Cute yeah?
Day Twenty Four
This is our very last day in Singapore sadly. By this time tomorrow I'll be 30,000 feet in the air moving about 600 miles per hour. 600 mph is fast, but not fast enough because this is going to take 20 + hours again :(
Today we went to Santosa beach again so Roger could meet up with some pals. I think we are heading out again in a bit so there my be more to come.
Till then enjoy these unexciting shots.
.
Yawn.
Homeward Bound
Airport... about 8:00 Am.
.
Bag pusher.
.
Dayday and Claire.
.
Breakfast at the airport. I'm to nervous to eat on the plane so this is all I will have for about 22 hours.
.
About to take off.
.
.
Like I said... I'm to nervous to eat on the plane. The fact it looks like that and smells like a burp is not helping either.
Ps: That's mustard fish and noodles... I think.
.
Our view from the window. Somewhere 30,000 feet over the earth.
.
Landed... whew. 9:30 Pm... 24 hours after take off.
New Place!?!
Well after we landed we started driving home. Only none of us knew we had a new home waiting. It was kind of a shock. Here's what it look like from the outside. Pretty cool huh? And we didn't have to move a thing... that's the best part.
Anyway, that's about it for this thing. Thanks for taking a look at it.
